Why do my poems be?

Why do my poems be like water rushing in a rapid I seem to love four four letters in a row four lines in a tow Why do my poems be like joyful bursts of sporadic laughter short sweet fragrant after as if they need reader till writer greets Why do my poems be like dreamy sunrise on mountain summit I seem to have taken the road hither nobody seldom goes thither Why do my poems be like hazy reflections upon silent sea roaring rolling beneath before perhaps the one sought perhaps the one aft

A new life

I saw a new life the other day Born under the pandemic sky A teeny-tiny brimming soul Oblivious to world raving high She smiled her jubilant ignorance Her feeble hands trying to grasp Those teeming eyes hardly open The world not yet in her clasp I wonder thus observing The spectacle of nature A gift of life put forth For us to honestly cater What world awaits her? Twenty years down the line This same judging jungle Or the utopia we all pine?

The two moons of my life

A photo of the Moon I recently shot through my telescope The Snow white ball of shine Comes to focus pretty fine All of a sudden the eyepiece speaks And a distant world quietly greets Love, for love it be Glides through the mares merrily Up the shadowy crater circles Down to the valley centers Near the pole an impact visible

IWD 2020

On the recent International Women's Day, I wrote poems for the three women who have shaped me and continue to define who I am. My Mum, my Sis and She.  1. To Ma, who is everything. When she sits there on the couch. Simple. Elegant. 2. To Sis, who is always there. When I meet her after a long time, at her hostel. 3. To Her, who stole my heart. When she looks at me with those passionate eyes.

A Random Musing

There you are I can’t say how well, Hope you be doing fine And taking gracefully the good embrace Of mother nature, in the form of altering seasons Which come and go with such amusing suspense. Your Life will be taking a new turn With the year’s fall, seeing the rising Of an untouched beacon for you to earn Hope, Ambition, Luck and what not? Your cares are sure to increase In the midst of all those worldly things But my hearty wish for you is that May you and yours live happily & prosper Forever, ever and forever.

A New Year Wish

Let this New Year be your guiding light In your endeavours to reach those heights For whom you must have struggled the year last But were unable to get hold of. Make a pledge this year too, To give your best in whatever you do. Set new goals and reach for them With all the might you may ever have. Forget your worries & nightmares Which have intimidated you in the past gone, Transform them into your strengths To do things you perhaps might have wanted once. With these among other wonderful thoughts And an overwhelmingly joyous heart, Let me wish you and your family that This meritorious New Year may never pass. Happy New Year, From, A Friend.

A Christmas Greeting

A Christmas Greeting May this Christmas bring forth, A shining light and mementos Of Love and joy, and May it bestow Upon thy countenance, the happiness you always sought. May you grow rich and richer still, In your ways so elegant and the gentleness so akin To you. May your dreams and desires past Long forgotten and outcast In the time’s fast pace, find a way To your benevolent heart and May you with those lovely hands of yours, Mould them into the reality. Thus, May this Christmas, your life lighten up With all the wonderful thoughts and pleasant memories, The world could ever hookup And May you cherish them all.    Merry Christmas    From,     A Friend.
